James qualified in 2011 having trained and worked at a West London firm in a variety of disciplines before focusing mainly on commercial and residential property. He joined the firm in the summer of 2016.
James has become an experienced property lawyer with a busy conveyancing practice dealing with residential and commercial property sales and purchases (freehold and leasehold), refinancing documentation, rent reviews, lease extensions, collective enfranchisement and right to buy and all aspects of commercial and residential property transactions and general property management.
He has a particular interest in collective enfranchisement having acted for tenants of various blocks of flats in relation to their purchase of the freehold under the Leasehold Reform Housing and Urban Development Act 1933. His interest in enfranchisement was further enhanced when he acted for Hambledon Court Ltd in the leading case of H Waites Ltd v Hambledon Court Ltd & Ors [2014] relating to the issue of the ownership of the roof space and air space above leasehold premises.
James is also an experienced private client practitioner, advising on all aspects of private client wills and probate law and practice.
